U. ROOS & SOHNN in STUGGART rifle

Hi guys, realizing this is not a WW2 combat weapon, it was a vet bring back. I hope someone could give me a little background on history, price rrarity etc. on the piece. I am an edged weapons collector first and foremost. ANY and ALL help, opinions greatly appreciated.

Probably Johann Ulrich Roos, 1779-1859, Stuttgart; occasionally signed as Roos & Sohn.
See: Heer, Der neue Stockel, Bd. 2, under Rosee (alternate spelling).
Tang rear sight evidently missing.

WAG: If shootable with decent bore $500 plus? I don't have much feel for civilian weapons.
