P08 magazines. Post or pre WW2?

    Gentlemen,

I have some P08 magazines that I would like to know some more about. Basically if they were made before or after WW2.

    No 1:
First of its two similar magazines that is marked "Made in Denmark" Where these put together after the war in Denmark? Denmark did not have the P08 as a service pistol before WW2 as far as I know.

    No 2:
Next one is two similar magazines that is stamped "Made in Germany" and "ERMA" The base that is made of some plastic stuff is a bit different between the two magazines but other than that they looks the same. If it was made post WW2 I would expect West Germany and not just Germany. But then it may have been made after 1990. Any clue?

    No 3:
Next magazine got a plastic/bakelite base and the only visual markings is a "P"

    No 4:
Next is marked with the "Mauser" drum and got a plastic base.

    No 5:
The last one is also marked with just the "Mauser" drum but got a wooden base.

Can you please help me out?

    With regards,
    Stian

Stian, Where these put together after the war in Denmark? YES! All of the mags you show are post war. The P marked mag on the spine is Swiss. The Mauser is a 1970's mag.

I did not know the P and cross marked Swiss mag is post war.

Can we be sure about that? Just wondering...

I agree about the rest of the mags...

        Cheers,
        Felix

The Swiss cross is at the center of right knob and you can see it on photo #3 , the Mauser mag are from the late 60' to 70' and the wooden base was a replacement from a broken plastic base?! I'll say all original wooden base Luger mag were made before mid 30' , the Swiss "P" mag were made pre 1935 ?! and I think they for the Swiss 29/06 Luger , one interest thing was one of the "Erma" mag with the concentric circles on knob , the German made that style (w/wooden base) for their WW1 navy Luger! those "Erma" mags were made in East Germany I believed , I got 2 of the E-German made Markarov marked w/ " made in Germany" , so I think in the old days ( 1946-? ) made in W- Germany=West-Germany and made in Germany= made in East Germany , I think the "P" mag are the most collectible in the whole bunch and I welcome any correction for my thought .

                  I missed that one

What is the value of magazines like this Vs WW1/WW2 made magazines? I would have preferred some nice WaA marked magazines but they are ok for shooting I guess.

                  Regards,

Luger are getting expensive this day even their accessory , P Swiss mag will go from $100 to $150 , Erma one just a little less , and then the Danish and Mauser, but the wooden base one will be less expensive.

Thank you for your reply frundsberg. I may put them on the e-stand or sell them locally at some point as my main interest is items made before and under WW2.

Anyway! Thank you all that has replied in this tread.

                        Ehh Sweden?

We are talking about Switzerland here. You know the guys that makes cheese and Toblerone...

And I also think that the P Swiss mag is maybe prewar era and or at least most likely used during the war time era by Swiss armed forces and also for comercial Swiss Lugers. Perhaps someone can enlighten us?

And the P and Swiss cross marked ones are rather sought after mags.

                        Cheers,
                        Felix

Felix..HAHA Right you are! Must have been sucking too many leather fumes. Yes the Swiss mags are good..not that collectable. You see them quite often at $100-150. I have several, I would guess they are good shooting mags. Mecgar is cheaper though! $35-40.
