    1937 S/42 Luger opinions please

I would like to get opinions on this luger being reblued or not, please. I realize the grips were changed, no problem. But the finish is remarkably shiny, it has an odd "stamp" "mark" on the left side near the serial number. The numbers match inside and out except there is no number under the barrel. What does everyone think??

Definitely reblued with no care taken to keep the corners sharp. What is the letter suffix under the serial number on the frame?

I agree, heavily buffed and reblued. If it is tight, might make a good shooter.

Seems to me that this is a VoPo Luger according the the mark right in front of the serial and I agree it's been refurbed.

It could possibly be a Vopo, but the Vopo Lugers were typically refinished better than this one, and normally have the plastic grips with the bullseye. This one shows the tell tale result of holding it on a buffing wheel too long and too hard, rounding the corners and washing out the markings.

Definetly the mark before the serial number denotes it as a VoPo...you can find them very badly refinished, refinished with good taste or not refinished at all and still with original blueing...as for the grips...they could have recently been changed for the repro ones this gun has.
Of course this one could have been double refurberished recently
