    1906 Navy Luger Unit mark

I bought a very nice 1906 Navy Luger with the unit mark of W.D. 368.
Can someone tell me what unit it denotes?

Did i mention i got capture papers too?

    Thanks guys-- Mark

If it just has WD with the number under it, that is the property mark of the Danzig dockyard. WD stands for Werft Danzig. The 368 is the weapon number.

                    Great Pistol, Carto !!
This is not being critical, but a nice wood Concentric Circle Navy Mag would really make this one stand out!! Are the grips numbered to the weapon?

Is there a letter suffix under the serial number on the front of the frame? Can't tell from the picture if it has the altered manual safety (1st Issue Altered) or is the second issue with the factory change to the safety.
The 1st issue 1906 Navy pistol had the Gesichert in the lower position. The 1st Issue Altered had the original Gesichert milled off, and the Gesichert added in the upper position. The 2nd Issue was factory made with the above modification.
                      Nice Navy Luger.

Yeah, i thought about running on down to wal mart and getting a correct mag....lol

Grips are numbered to the pistol. It is an altered frame gun. You can faintly make out the word on the lower position . Which is more uncommon, the first, altered, or last model?

Im no expert, this is my third Luger, but from what ive seen on the net, im thinking 4000.00 to 5000.00 value on this one?

                        Id like opinions guys.....

                        THANKS

By far the most I have seen over the years have been 1st Issue altered. A 1st Issue or 2nd Issue is hardly ever seen.
You are probably close to present day value on the pistol.
