    MP40 Carry Bag.....

    Hello, all.....

This is a reproduction MP40 carry bag that I just received. I'm hoping that some of you could weigh in on how authentic the pattern is....Is the overall shape and construction correct?....Pocket position and number of pockets ok?, etc.

I have not seen an original one, and if any of you have one and can post photos, I'd be grateful. This one serves it's purpose for display, but I'd just like to know how close it looks to the real thing.

    Thanks very much,
    Bob.

    Hi,
Never seen original picture of these kind of bag. Pure replica... In fact, I wouldn't say replica but 'looks like' German bag.
    That's all
    Best regards

Yes....As I stated previously, I know it's a replica. I'm looking for opinions from those who HAVE seen these and can critique THIS one....

Thanks very much for your response, though....

      Cheers,
      Bob.

Had a Luftwaffe carrybag years ago which ended up with George Petersen; Luft. blue-grey, zippper along bottom; held MP with stock folded and mag out. Looked nothing like this thing.

Thanks, Craig.. I'm grateful for your input.... This one also holds the MP with the stock folded and mag out.

Is there a pouch for another MP40 mag inside?
AFAIK, MP40´s got issued with 3 or 6 mags, not 5.
I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.
Also soldbucher from 116pzdiv. And 1944-1945 eastfront pockets, kampfgruppe and Oder front.

I have one of these also, I'm assuming they were used by paratroopers since there is no way to carry except to clip onto straps. I was not able to get my MP40 into it without removing the sling.

I'm no expert, but as others have said, never seen a bag like this in any period photos.

Receiver covers as used by Fallschirmjägers (and often seen in pre-/early-war photos) are constructed very differently, as are those field made covers as explained in "Von der Front fur die Front" magazines.
