Hi Gunter,
It is not normal for a wartime P-38 to rattle. Ejectors do come loose and can fairly easily be restaked. A heavy SA trigger pull is not normal at all. Can you measure what it is? Sounds like you have a problem
Cheers

I noticed my only P38 has quiete a heavy trigger pull in both DA/SA. I was wondering if this was normal in these guns. I find it difficult to master shooting it accurately.
Is it normal for wartime P38 to rattle when shaken? I believe my ejector is loose.

I don't have the correct tools to measure a trigger pull, but I have fired glocks many times, and they have a consistant 5.5lb trigger pull that i can refer to, compared to that my P38 SA trigger is a bit heavier, so I estimate atleast around 6 lb. The trigger travel is: DA = 28mm (1.1 in) SA = 8mm (0.31 in), Reset = 23mm (0.91 in)
A bummer to know that my ejector is malfunctioning, pretty sure it is the part that is causing the rattle. The pistol does shoot quiete reliable with FMJs, I do get failiure to feed when the slide is released slowly, seem to be caused by the loaded chamber indicator getting in the way.
How can I restake the ejector?
