    Odd Duck!

I posted this in the belt fourm as I thought it to be a "Sam Brown" belt, as it turned out its a "German" issue "Nagant" sling!

    Check out the maker mark!

WOW. Do I feel stupid. I voted for Sam Brown too. And it is obviously a Nagant sling, but the German markings threw me.
O.K. East German, or wartime ?
Things like this make this hobby so much fun!
          Regards,
          Johnnie

I still say postwar East German; no date despite having a maker stamp (instead of a 3 digit code) and the brass hardware are commensurate with Russian items. I believe the town was also in Prussia, putting it within the realm of Soviet occupation too.
