Question about .380 german pistols

I agree with Joe! Whats the point in tiring to match up a pistol to the paper work that don't belong together. This is the kind of thing that drives collectors crazy. Down the road they may be offered as correct when they are not. I to would like to see the papers. I have never seen any with out the serial numbers on them. Seems that would defeat the purpose of having them? There were also more then one document to declare the bring back item, so yours may be one of several.

I have seen examples of CZ27s without serial numbers. I believe they may also be early examples? Some also have serial numbers etched rather then stamped. May have been test examples for the Germans.

Both the Walther PP and the PPK were produced in 9mm kurz/.380 cal. These pistols are extremely rare and seldom encountered.

Ill get pictures, there are two papers so I am assuming they are for different pistols.

They are described as "38 caliber pistol, German" And it also has a holster on both sets of papers.

You stated that he had a P.38 that never made it stateside before it was stolen. In another post you said his P.38 was stolen in the seventies. Your great-grandfather must have been the very last GI shipped home from WWII - 30 years after the war ended???

It was before he was even shipped home. Why did I post that it was in the 70's?

It was definitely before he left Europe or when he was on the ship. No doubt about it.

He was dead in the 70's (heart attack).
