    M1911A1 Bag of Goodies

Also found this bag in the trunk - minus the weapon itself.

Any idea to market value would be extremely valuable. Thanks!

    First item to exit bag....

I have not opened what seems to be a hermetically sealed bag. Can someone tell me what is in the bag so I don't have to open it?

you have a slide assembly, and the markings on the barrel are British Nitro Proof markings, looks to be Birmingham proof house.

That slide in the original wrapper is interesting, is it Colt? nice find!

The slide would be Colt manufacture, as I have one wrapped in the same material and the label identifies it as Remington Rand.
From 1938 until October of 1943 the spare slides were marked with M 1911A1 U.S. ARMY on the right side. It was finally deemed unnecessary and just another manufacturing step, and was stopped.
