    Colt 45 ID Help please

    Can someone help me identify this Colt. I have no idea about these. Thanks.

      Not a good one to own. The original serial number has been removed, and another serial number hand stamped. Against federal law to possess a firearm with an altered serial number. The Springfield Armory acceptance mark on the left side of the receiver above the magazine lock indicates that it was made after serial number 303000, so the serial number is not close to the original.
      The magazine catch lock has a slotted head like a screw, but is not threaded and does not unscrew. It is very common to see them buggered up like that one. To release it, press the magazine catch through from left to right, and turn the lock counter clockwise.

          Pass hell... run away !. I hate to see good old pistols so boogered , and 1911's of all stripes seem to be the most boogered with by jackarses !.
