    Mg 42 lafette

Hi, lets make it mg42 time, here is my 42 lafette that I restored recently with it's gun. It was only a partial strip down to remove all the Austrian,Yugo or which ever countries paint that was applied on the lafette, certainly not WW11 German!
Gun is marked swd, lafette cradle is by fsu dated 1943 and the fire control tower is marked cql 42. Next to repaint is the 34 lafette which will be with grey paint but I need to sort out some new leather back pads first. Regards david.

Thanks, just had a quick look could only find 9 WaA stamps and 5 fsu stamps plus various numbers. I need the mgz40 sight to complete the lafette set up,whilst looking for one this morning on the net I noticed that the D and B militaria have a 34 and 42 lafette for sale at £2,250 and £1,500 each, glad that I got my two when they were relatively cheap!Regards David.

            Lafette

Sarco here in the US has postwar mg42 Yugo tripods for 450-500$ for anyone interested, MG34 tripods are another story all together. Nice job, good luck finding the optics, they keep creeping up and up and up in price... Chris...
