    Artillery Luger

I had one of these years ago then a friend talked me out of it so I waited and waited and waited till I found this last weekend at a garage sale. It wasn't cheap but it was the nicest I've seen for a while so I had to snag it.

Everything matches including the grips and the British Nitro Proofs are a nice piece of additional history.

It received it's British proofs in 1963, if I am reading the letters in the crossed scepters correctly, before being sold commercially. You are extremely fortunate to find an Artillery with the matching magazine.
            What is the chamber date?

The chamber date is 1917 and I paid more than 1k for it but it came with a few extras.

Gary, That's easily a $3000 pistol. What extras? Stock? Holster? Trommel mag?

I agree with Jerry! $1k for an all matching artillery luger is cheap!!!

You did good Gary! I have the same story. Had one years ago, and traded it in for a K98 or something? Now, I can't even afford to buy one like the one I had!

Jeez can't a guy keep a few secrets!! I paid 1800 for it and it came with a spare mag (not matching but correct) loading tool, and the double magazine pouch.

Gary, Just want to share in your good fortune! The red nines are very scarce..I think you could add a handsome premium just for those. Is your double mag pouch original? Maker Marked? Artillery or Navy? Brown or black?
How about another photo or two! You were really fortunate to comeaccross this..I am sure you know. Not many people go to yard sales with 1800 bucks in their pocket!

                          Hi Jerry,

Here's the pouch and the spare mag. Out here I have found so many things at garage sales that are good I normally carry a couple of thousand with me just in case. Also it is not uncommon for people to sell guns or high end knives as well so it is best to be prepared. I never want to be the guy who had to go to the bank to get cash only to have the item sold out from under me!

                          Cheers
                          Gary
