    question about .45 pistol parts?

I got this today, I think they are parts for .45 but I am not sure. In the box with this was .45 ammo and primers.
I am think about putting this on estand, because I do not have .45 pistol. So I was wondering what is all this for and also what would be rough value of it?
    Thank you for your help.
    regards Rajko

Looks like 2 receivers or frames for a 1911 A1 .45 automatic. which look to be finished. Don't know if Essex is still in business or not. Rest of the parts are also for a .45 including recoil springs. firing pin stops, long & short match triggers, target front & rear sight, several grip screws, hammer & sear, disconnector pins. Not sure of value but a guess would be $250. for each frame if not rust pitted, $40. for the sight & triggers and maybe $20. for the rest.

the frames are firearms, and must be transferred by an ffl to avoid penalty!

absolutely, the major part with the serial # is the firearm.

Thank you, I bought this from a lady whose husband left it behind, and I bought it as a parts, I never had the slightest idea that the frames are considered the firearms.

It depends on the laws in your state as long as the sale takes place to another legal residient of that state. Many and I think that in fact most states still allow individuals to sell handguns to other individuals in that state if some basic conditions are met..without going thru an FFL dealer.....

There are still shreds of freedom left....but who can say for how long?
