I can't remember what Charlie had it priced at, but it was priced fairly. The main problem with the "w" suffix PPk is that most people don't know what it is, or information about it, therefore value isn't signifigantly increase.
If someone would to ever write a book on these, the value will multipy quickly!!!

I myself don't know exactly what the "w" suffix is for? but I do know that the "W" suffix PPk is a rare bird. I passed on this one mainly due to condition, and the fact that Charlie also had the SS PP that I so desperately wanted! (see my other thread on SS PP). But you got yourself a very rare bird there!

      Matt, Joe, et al,

Thanks for the information on the "W" PPK. The only reference on this pistol seems to be "Rankin" and he does not shed much light on it except to show a serial # range and to state that very few were produced. It would appear that maybe this was a small contract run or maybe they were just testing as they made the PP w/out a suffix and w/a " K " suffix so the "W" could have just stood for " Walther"
In any event as stated a very rare variant and not often seen, The condition of the pistol while having some mild pitting on the right side does not really distract from the overall condition and considering the rarity is tolerable. Looks like the price range has been placed @-$1000-3500.
Maybe I wll decide to part w/it as I reallly only want a nice early PPK.

      Thanks again,

      Bill
