Help need with P38

Hello gentleman,

a friend of me offert me this set, he get the P38 with the holster straight from the vets family with other things, he do not collect arms, so i have the chance to buy it. The pistol is built to deko 3 weeks ago !

If everything ok with the pistol and the hoster ? Both wartime made ?

And the question of question : How much can i pay for it ? so that is a fair deal for both sides ?

Holster is a post-war P1 holster. As to value, over here the pistol would probably be worth about $500-600.

ac43 is a correct worn one, but in my opinion, holster is not wwII but a P1 post war model

When you say "deko" you mean that this gun was deactivated, right?
I don't know what are the laws regarding gun ownership in your area, but usually this feature has an impact on the price.

Besides that, it is a correct wartime P38, made by Walther in 1943. The holster, as said above, is a post-war example, and not correct for this gun (if you intend to display it as a WWII piece of weaponry).

I think you're right, and thius gun has been desactivated.
here in europe, price is identical for an deactivated and live gun!

In my opinion,the "deactivation" (i.e. conversion of the firearm into a non-gun decorator item) would have a substantial impact on price here in the U.S. When Col. Klink mentioned a price range of $500 to $600, I believe he was thinking of what the item would bring if it was a live and fully functional firearm located in the U.S.

I don't know what such "deacts" would bring in the U.S. as we simply never see them; the "deact" situation is confined to legal environments outside of the U.S. and there is no reason (under U.S. law) to make these sorts of substantial alterations to firearms.

this is the big problem of european laws. Price for deact is almost identical than for a live one, and there is a market for deac( very badly done) guns or pieces of metal
Just for tell you how crazy are the laws:
in france a mauser in original caliber 8*57 is classified as "war gun" and you need a special license for it (you have to renew each 3 years with a medical certificate, and you can't own more than 7 guns) , but... If you recaliber it in 8*60 or 8*64 (much more powerfull caliber) it becomes a "civilian gun" you're free to own without any notion of quantity!

yes, with deko i mean that the gun is deactive, sorry for my bad english,

i think in germany the price for active or deactive guns is the same.

my friend bought it for 350 euro and the rebuilt costs more than 100 euro,

he offert me the set with 2 wartime made P38 mags for 550 Euro

can i take it their for or is it too expensive ?
