Volksgewehr for sale, any opinions on it?

    Hello,

Saw this for sale. First time I have seen one except for a few photos from the war, any opinions on this rare late war weapon?

    Best regards
    Lars

To me some of the the metal parts look like they have been underground whereas the wood doesn't.

    I may be wrong.

    Regards

Had it in hands last thursday at a local fair - he told its grounddug, and the wood replaced. Therefore the price is not the expected 10.000,-EUR.

IMO, this gun can find its place in a collection even is such, let us be honest, poor condition.
And the price is OK for what we see.
Gran Sasso, do its mechanics work?

I have not tried, because I had no idea what to touch, where to pull or so - 1st time for me with a rare weapon like this - and I was more interested in other stuff he had there displayed.

One in original working condition (not dug up) but missing the safety sold here in the US for about $17,000 a couple of weeks ago. The range for these in the US is $15,000-$20,000 depending on the version and condition.

I sold mine 4 years ago (1 version) for 10 E K ,perfect working condition so i would be surprised if this piece could reach that price range.

Thanks a lot! Anyone ever fired one of these? How are they when it comes to accuracy and such? Are they full auto or possible to shoot singel shots?

Only semi auto ,but i think they made trials in fulll auto which turned out to be uncontrolable.

                          Hi Guy

Not an original one, but this company in Germany is making reproductions that are live fire.

Saw this link on another forum, hope it works.
