What is the marking following the N ? Also, what are the markings on the back of the receiver?

The markings following the N is 52 and the number on the receiver are 11.40 ..

Both markings are early Weimar era Rechswehr unit marks. The "11.40." is a typical pre 1922 "provisional" marking. The grip strap marking is also Reichswehr but I can not interpret it as it does not follow any of the official directives I have access to.

I also posted the gun on the Luger Forum and I was told by a forum member that he believes that these are not police markings, I really dont know much about markings but I really dont see what else can they be??

As GWA states, it's a non-regulation mark. A best guess would be Sanitäts Kraftfahr-Abteilung 119 weapon Number 12. Basically an Ambulance Driver unit.
