There's some cool stuff over here, a bunch of Martini's and stuff that have been "Afghanized" to various degrees. They know that the soldiers want them, so there's a lot of junk and fabricated stuff out there now. But a lot of old Russian stuff laying around from their war, mostly all Class III stuff.

I emailed simpson's who contacted ATF and got the same answer, so looks like I'm out of luck. I thought I'd steal the grips at least, but as a collector I'd probably feel a little guilty so probably won't. I'm away from my FOB now, but as soon as I get back I'll post a couple pictures of it.

Thanks for all the advice and help guys, I appreciate it.

Try to get some Kabul Arsenal martini henrys. The Kabul Arsenal ones will have the Afghan writing and the Afghan seal on them. They would be a perfect souvenir of Afghanistan. Thats what I would bring home, but unfortunately I probably wont make it into the military. BTW, thanks for your service!!!

Ahh the Fenty bazaar... You see those coins on the left? All left behind by Alexander the Great himself!

Thanks all. I know I promised photos, just trying to find a disc...

        Bazaar

Right after i arrived in country a suicide bomber visited Bagram and the Bagram Bazaar was cancelled until further notice. I moved onto Fenty/Jalabad and while in that part of the country I enjoyed many a trip to the Fenty bazaar. When I rotated out through Bagram I had some down time and as luck would have it the Bagram bazaar was up and running. The Bagram bazaar was like visiting the Mall of the Americas compared to Fenty !

"Mista, mista. You come look at my shop." as this strange Afghan man pulls you away by the arm...

          Quite the experience!

If you are military in Afghanistan you know your first and only move is to run this through your unit chain of command and SOP.
There would be no other alternative.
