French (German Marked) S.A.C.M 1935a Pistol question

I got this today but I was wondering about the finish, it looks too good and the barell looks like it has a black finish. All the ones I saw had a little different finish. This one came from vet's wife and she told me that it came with her husband after the war. their is no import markes on it. So any help would be appreciated.

    regards Rajko

It's hard to tell from the pictures but it looks like it's parkerized?

The early production guns - even through post war had a black paint finish like the Mas-36 production through 45-47. So parkerizing would only have been done in production after the war.

Here's a close-up to show you how it looked:

From the pictures it looks like a later park job that would cut the value - it appears to have been very nicely done, but not original to the piece.

It does look mint, but this gun does not have a black finish. So I guess it is post war, what would be the value of this gun with this finish?

And does anybody have a link to the diagram how to take the gun apart?

                  thank you Rajko

                    Hi Rajko,

I've seen people ask $350-450 for a wartime one with matching mag, but I couldn't really say how much the value would be reduced in the current state.

I bought a regular postwar one with the black paint finish for $225 a couple years ago.

To disassemble, pull the slide to the rear, then unhinge the slide catch piece which will rotate around and come out - this will enable you to take off the slide in a forward motion.
