UK Law regarding deactivated rifle in transit

I am thinking of taking my K98 with a 2008 Deactivation certificate to a militaria fair to sell.
Anything i should know about travelling with it in the car?

I thought this might be a stupid question, but i do live in a paranoid country

If you have a good reason for having it in your possession (and you seem to have such a reason), there should be no problem.

Thanks Robin, i've booked a stall to clear some stuff out (too little time to estand everything), so will have a car full of militaria, not to mention a friend whose setting is permanently stuck on gallantry medals. Should tire even the most vigilant of Police Officers pretty quickly!

I would only add that you always wrap the said weapon even a deactivated one in something when transporting it in public view. Just so it doesn't raise any suspicions and prompt a call to the local police who then come with an armed response unit
