Someone once said that this is K98 oil can. What do You think? If so, where it was attached?

I dont belive that. Read - http://www.mauser.org/accessories/index.htm . ( Oil Can for K98k, mfg'd in Germany during both World Wars! Solid brass canister with chain to prevent loss of screw-on cap! Pouring spout column unscrews for rapid re-filling and screw on cap prevents loss of cap or leakage. Rare and original. Leather Pouch: A heavy-duty leather pouch in like-new condition. Designed to hold the solid brass German flat-sided oil can, the one with a solid brass screw cap and a solid brass connecting chain so you can’t lose the cap. Universal distribution in the German army but also found in the carry strap for the magazine pouch for the Schmeisser sub-machine gun (where it was probably needed most). Two belt loops for security.)

        Are you sure?
I´ve never ever seen one before. That website probably just wants to make some money.
I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.
Also soldbucher from 116pzdiv. And 1944-1945 eastfront pockets, kampfgruppe and Oder front.

Don't believe anything you read on the Mitchell's Mauser site. They sell more mis-advertised (borderline fraud) rifles & accesories to make a dollar. The oiler you have IS NOT German.

It is Yugoslavian, used for the M48, SKS and even the AK M64 and M70 series.

sad how many people are misled by Mitchells Mausers and that they continue to get away with it

this is not a german oiler or leather case
