    High Power Holster

I recently picked up this holster its un marked apart from a '4' under the closure strap. Its got that old leather smell and the 'rub on the leather from the metal pin.Its construction looks the same as some examples i have seen on this and other forums but they have been WaA marked. Please could i have some opinions on it being pre may '45.

    Many thanks Chris.

        Chris,

Good news! Your holster is definately a wartime production for the FN Browning Hi-power!
The bad news is, like many of these well used examples, the makers marking, and possibly the waffenampt are sometimes worn off by the backside of the closure button rubbing on it. This is quite common on these.

Some of these holsters are waffeampt inside the top flap though, so check inside the top flap closely, it may be there.

But the good news is, it's real, and it looks to be in pretty decent shape too! A good find!

        Matt

Matt and Jason thanks very much for your help. I brought it on eBay it did look ok to me but I did take a gamble (silly I know) but it looks like it paid off. You have both put my mind at ease. I did have a good look on the inside of the flap before posting (I remembered that Matt from when you helped me with my Vis Holster). But it is too grubby to see anything. Once again many thanks.
