    I was doing a search on the net for "P39" and found this post from 2005 by Bill Grist. So you might have to find the correct holster for that super nice P38. You probably could get a good price for it as the P39 pistols are more rare than those for the P38.

    +++++

    These were made for the Czech Model 38 Double action 9mm kurz pistol.. CZ38.. The pistol was a standard issue Czechoslovakian pistol, before the war, around 45,000 pistols were accepted by the German military, the Czech proof was considered by the Germans as a accepted proof mark, thus hardley any of the pistols were Waffenamt proofed.. There are a few WaA76 proofed pistols without serial numbers, most are parkerized, and a very small amount of WaA proofed P39(t)s..with Serial numbers..Holsters for these weapons were of the P-38 style with a narrower extra magazine pocket to accommodate the smaller magazine.. There are some P-38 holsters with a leather insert in the extra magazine pocket to tighten up the pocket to hold the smaller CZ38 or in German nomenclature P39(t) pistol magazine in 9mm kurz or in US nomenclature calibre .380.. ... There were many of these holsters that were modified to be used on US pistol belts, by the addition of a additional single belt loop and a US style metal belt attachment hooks in both Norway and Finland.. In the 60 US arms dealers advertised these weapons as SS issue to sell them.. I'll see if I cannot find a ad.. I hope this helps some....BILL

        Hi Rylan,
        Good pictures, I agree that is the original finish with a nice "plumb" frame which is common to ac44's.Very nice grips. A little Nevr-Dull wading might help with the rust on the slide or 0000 steel wool with oil "only on the spot"
        Cheers,
        Jason

          Rylan,

          A nice Walther P38! Straight as can be. The finish is original and in very good condition. I love the frame's "plum" color of these '44 Walthers. I own one from the "f" block with the same fram color.

          The holster is not fra a P-38 but for a Czech P.39 pistol. Very similar, but not for this late gun - if you intend to build a more "suitable" rig. Maybe a hardshell holster dated '43 or a '44 softshell.

          Nice addition! Congratulations!

              Nice looking P38 The holster is (as mentioned), for a P39(t), or CZ38 as the Czechs called it. Holster does look very nice though!

                  Thanks to everyone for the comments. I'm glad you guys spotted the P39(t) holster, makes sense why my mag didn't fit it the pouch..... duh

                  Jason, thanks for the info on the rust, I was a bit unsure what to do about it. I might try your suggestion.

                    Great wartime P38 my favorite hand gun.
                    You do not have a WWII German collection without one.
                    What does the bore look like?
