My father brought this German combination gun back at the end of WW II. I have been doing some research on the gunmaker who made it, but have not found much about him. I am hoping someone on the forum might be able to help. The gun is an over/under rifle-shotgun - a 16 gauge shotgun barrel over a 5.6 x 52mm rifle barrel. It was made by O. Schneider of Zella-Mehlis, and is engraved "O.S. Z.M." on the bottom of the receiver. It also has the following markings on the barrel: "O. Schneider - 16.63 - 56.52m - 5 12 41 - 32 83 -" These markings are followed by the eagle & swastika - 1241 - a symbol that looks like a heart - and finally Krupp Lavestahl. The gun has a buffalo horn trigger guard, cocking indicators, an adjustable front set trigger for the rifle barrel, and claw-foot scope mounts.
Any information about the gunsmith who made this gun would be most appreciated.
