    MKb 42 magazine. Opinions please!
How rare it is for the other Stg magazines?
    Thank you!

    Hi pirate
It's one of the least common mags and the first (meaning 'the first marking') mass produced. Some of them were later additionally stamped with either 'MP43' or 'MP44' underneath.

Interesting, the MKb42 was the prototype assault rifle (pic here.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Haenel_Mkb_42(H).jpg ),of which around 11,000 were made before production of the final MP 43/44/StG44 commenced.Over 400,000 of these were made. There are quite a few differences between the 2 versions. Your mag is rather rare and nice to have.

Is there any legible manufacturer marking on the opposite side of the magazine itself, the follower and the cover?
I have never seen an MKb42 magazine made by Steyr. All that I have encounterd including battlefield finds were made by Haenel (fxo).
