MP40 barrel rest

Hello
I have an MP40 ( deactivated ) and the Bakelite resting bar is broken where the tab fits into the collar nut.
Does anyone have any experience with repairing something similar with a product like JB weld?
I wanted to get some advice before proceeding with this.

Thanks for the advice. I might go the replacement route. Found a real period Bakelite barrel rest. The seller wants like $300.00...waaaay too much.
Looking like the repro route.
