mg42 - what do you think?

What do you think of this MG42 I came across the other day? Is it period or a made up weapon? All correct legal documentation present and correct. Working parts all operate correctly and as far as I can tell it is complete.

I'd be delighted if you experts could tell me a little about it.

Firearms are not my thing so it will be heading for the For Sale tables soon. If you want to contact me please do jamest8@madasafish.com

            Many thanks

Looks good: ar is the code for Mauser Borsigwalde and the crossed swords are a British deactivation code. I do not know what the "BH" stamp signifies.

                BH: Austrian Army (BundesHerr)
It was a WWII MG42 re-used by the Austrian Army after the WWII, with a 308 barreland feed tray, and with a green plastic STEYR buttstock (MG74)
Sells by the Austrian army 10 years ago, this MG42 as been deactivated in UK

On the ammo you'll need to post closeups of the headstamps on the bottom of the cartridge to determine what they are. Nice 42 BTW.... Chris...
