    K98 243 1939.

    Hello forum members.

I wanted to show this well used k98.

    K98 243 1939
    Mauser Werke A.G.
Berlin, Borsigwalde, one that the whole war has witnessed,
The k98 and the stock are number equal, the bolt not these has the serial number 5297 and is stamped with lot waffenamt 77.
The k98 has is original blueing.

You can see what pitting in the metal, and has fly rust here and there after 70 years, it is easy to remove it.
by removing the butt plate, I saw a code some stamps 7 and 1939 with 2 another strange stamps.
There is also a field repair on the stock as you can see, professional made.

I hope you still love it this beautiful old K98, and I look forward to your comments.

    Thnx for looking.

    Regards Pieter

    Fiel reparation.

Very nice. Thank you for posting the pictures. The metal finish looks dark, but that could be the camera. Don't you wish it could talk?

Thnx madboat for your comment, It is around 4 hour this afternoon almost dark here, but the k98 has is original blueing.
And I was too late to take pictures today.
Wiht a 5megapixel camera you can not make good pictures in the dark and at dusk outside

Nice one. I too have a 243 Mauser with "dark" blueing but its a 1940 and mine is in excellent condish. I would dare to say the finish on yours is fine.

          Thanks pvluger.
The dark on my K98 is due to the light and the camera.
          good luck with your K98
