    Vietnam made bolt action rifle?

I was just visiting a friend and he showed me a handmade bolt action rifle that was brought back from Viet Nam. I have seen the pistols, but never a rifle. It wa crude, but functional.

Do these have any value? I could probably get it, but have no interest in keeping it.

Bob, if your friend got it in nam, and has provenance proveable, it is a rare example. I too have seen the 45's made from scratch by the VC'....I would say ..take a chance, as a gun like that could be worth a grand to the right collector, maybe more. But if it is cheap enough, youll go a long time till you see another. If it has capture papers...that would ...as you know add a premium to the value. If you buy it, you might find someday , you may regret selling such a gun. All the guys that I know ,that brought em back, sold the VC made 45's always regretted letting them go. Someone may have an ss hat or something their family brought back , they might trade for such a rifle. Can you get some shots to show ? , and if its not too dear (like under 400. , you gotta remember 100. isnt worth more than about 4. buying power in the 60s' at present, and dropping every year with inflation) I say go for it. Ps. I wouldnt suggest shooting it.

I have seen a few of these over the years. They are not as disirable as other bring backs but they are what they are. The interest in them has always been too low to bring serious bucks.

        Think long term...
What were Volksgewehrs selling for thirty years ago relative to standard K98ks?
