The Mattel "Tommy Burst" regularly goes for around 450.00 - 500.00, in good operating condition..... Much more, if included in the complete Dick Tracy set.
I'd give my right arm to be ambidextrous.....

Hey is that crook with the P38 Otis the bum from Mayberry, I always wondered what landed him in the slammer. I remember my Tommy Burst and I vaguely remember a Man from U.N.C.L.E. rifle I had for a short time, jealous kid in the neighborhood smashed it in the street when I left it outside - I played with a real Italian Carcano my uncle sent back as well - my dad simply took the bolt out and it was a toy, even though it had a fold out bayonet. Ah, those were the days.

                  Otis

Poor old Otis. Came back from WW2, suffered from undiagnosed PTSD, became an alcoholic. Obviously the P38 was a bring back. He lived a life of crime in the big city. He met Andy while Andy was attending the National Sheriffs Convention. Tried to rob him. Andy, unarmed, talked him out of it and convinced him to come to NC. Otis took him up on the offer, gave up crime, but could never shake the demon rum. I think Opie has that P-38 now.

I would have given anything for those as a kid. I fought the Yankees and Germans and Japanese with sticks and rocks.
