    Rockola M1 carbines

I am interested in bidding on a Rockola M1 carbine new in the wrapper as described by this auction house. www.cottoneauctions.comwww.cottoneauctions.com

What would be the value for such a piece ? There is also a k43 in the auction. Added to the price is 15% buyer premium and NYS sales tax 8.5%. The auction is this Saturday in Geneseo, NY. He does take on line bids.

    Thank You.

    Hi Dan,

The K43 would run around 1500 to 2k in this condition if it is all in this condition. I would want to see a lot more photo's of this weapon before I bid on it.
The same goes for the Rockola. If it is indeed as presented then 2k would be cheap (this is for a complete unaltered WWII variation). On the other hand if it has been arsenal refinished (which this looks to be based on the color of the reciever I can see) then the value drops considerably.

    Cheers
    Gary

      Carbine's

They don't have detailed pictures of their items, you have no idea if it is a good one or not unless you can see it. If you are going to bid hit #268, carbine listed as a Marlin, Marlin didn't make carbines but hey did supply barrels to National Postal Meter and Standard Products. So one would assume it is either one of those. From what you can see from the 1 picture....high wood, type 1 or 1A band (doesn't look like a 2 or 3 was ever on it). and flip sight. I can't see a cartouche on the stock, it looks too nice to be original so it was probably refinished. Again, with 1 picture and not knowing what parts it has, it a crap shoot. There are plenty of online auction sites to buy carbines. I would pass on these without better pictures and details of the parts. You may even try your local gun shop or Sporting Good store. My local store had a Rock-ola the last time I was in. You can hold it, break it down and know what you are getting. The price they set on it is low, if the parts are original the flip sight is $150, the band is $125 and high wood stock even refinished is $200-400, the carbine case is $100, that's just a couple parts and you met their estimate. Hope this helps, Van...........
