My 1894 Krag .30 Army Rifle

Thought I'd share with you a rifle that's been in my family for nearly 75 years.

When I was growing up, this was just a long rifle that hung on a rack with other Krags.

And then...one day I took a closer look and imagine my surprise when I discovered that I owned a rifle that came from the dawn of its type.

    Rifle number 588.

      That's a very nice example.

You wouldn't think that a cleaning rod would be an exciting feature, but it's neat to see one that has survived unaltered. Any chance you can post additional photos of the details? Thanks for sharing!

I'll put together some shots of this rifle that details the differences that document how early a speciman this rifle is in the Krag .30-40 US Army lineage.
