unknown MG pouch - please identify

A friend of mine has found what I believe to be a MG pouch, but not of german origin I think. It is made of thick leather and the metal parts are brass. It has compartments for bent magazines for rather long cartridges. Could anyone please identify it/for which gun it is? Thank you, Paul

Thank you very much. It was found in an endfighting area in Austria, where the Germans used all kinds of weapons. If it is of interest to you let me know, my friend does not have much interest for it.
