    German Luger with strange markings

    Hello Gentlemen,

I am collecting information on this Luger I picked up in a local garage sale buy from the veteran who captured it himself. Unfortunately he has since passed on and these mystery markings remain unanswered.

Bluing rates at a strong 90%+. All numbers match. Magazine does not match pistol. Markings are on the rear grip strap, "N 4766".

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    My best,
    Vince Leone

The rear grip strap marking is a Kriegsmarine property mark for the North Sea station.

You are right on target. This is an outstanding find IMO. The holster is also great.

Anyone want to take a shot at what a fair market value is?

I could not estimate it but certainly went up in value simply because it has kriegsmarine proofs.
                Certainly nice

V..The grip straps look worn to white. I always look at the grip straps to determine %.
I suspect the pistol might bring $1800-2000
                  Holster $300+
                  tool $85-100
If the holster were also Eagle M marked it would easily be $600+
Perhaps $2500 for the rig. This is a poor economy and I have noticed many items bring 1/3 less than they used to 2 years ago.
