    Astra 300 w/ Tropical holster

Can anyone tell me if this holster is German produced during WWII?
Also, what is the value of the Astra 300 in about 80-85% condition?
It is 9mm kurz and proofed WaA251 with serial number in the 569xxx range.
Left grip has a crack on the top.
I see no markings on the holster.
I need a value on the pistol seperately.
    Thanks.
And NO, that is not my carpet....

        Hi George,

I am 99% sure it is not a German made holster, unless it was custom made by an officer for his pistol. Here is a photo of the very rare but the most common type of German made web/leather holster. This holster was generally made only for the Luftwaffe and can usually be found to hold a CZ-27, or a Femaru.

        My best,

Note the "41" date and Luft acceptance bird.

Could this be a Spanish made holster?
It fits the Astra 300 like a glove as does the spare mag.

          Has anyone seen such before???

              Hi George
The holster is not spanish either, I can tell you for sure...however the 300 is a hell of a gun!
Wish it could find its way back to Spain
I can't help on pricing as in Europe they have different value.

I seemed to have Located a webley Holster that has very similiar Rear attachment and also has the same type of closing strap,The entire Holster was for a different style gun and not the same style.Seeing that Belt loop it makes me thing english,Could have been cusom made by a Brit or Canadian Officer.

I found a spanish holster with a Similar style of Belt loop...this looks connect around the Front but has the Back part that goes through a Similar Retainer....I would not rule out a Spanish Tropical.By the way Thanks to the Owner of the Pic.

                    Thanks y'all.
The Astra does not belong to me but the holster does.
I have been toying with the idea of purchasing an Astra for it, but if the holster is NOT WWII German, then I will most likely pass on the gun and sell the holster.
Oddly enough, I received the holster with a Astra clip in it, which fits perfectly as does the Astra pistol.
What would be the value of such an Astra? Blue is about 80%.

Current market value in the US would be about $350-$400 for an Astra 300 in that condition. It's a very slick little pistol.

I think that a Nazi marked Astra commands a premium when compared with a standard example. At the same site where the holster above was put for sale, there is a Astra 300 for sale that belonged to the last batch delivered to the Germans - no Waffenamt. The guy wants 1250.00 for it.

Even if we consider that it's a "dealer's price" and the not so mint condition of George's pistol, the price would be the nearly the double in my humble opinion.

                          Correction

Many thanks indeed: with an acceptance stamp, value is listed at increasing by 25%. According to the current edition of the Standard Catalog of Military Firearms, it would be nominally worth $500-$600 in NRA VG condition, more of course if mint or near it.

Granted, these firearms are very subject to the laws of supply and demand. I regularly see WW2 firearms being offered at extremely high prices, well above estimated market rates. Such sellers, imho, aren't interested so much in selling (ie: moving merchandise) as trying to get as much as they can for their items. In that case, they can sit on what they offer until someone is willing to pay their price. Frankly, asking $1250 for an Astra 300 is way over market value, although I suspect that someone who really has to have one will pay that price at some point. It just won't be me.

The problem with catalogues is they are geared towards buying and not selling. I remember the Blue Book of Gun Values set the value of the HK 41 at around 1000 dollars while a bog standard HK 91 was valued at 1600. The only problem with that is there are around 3000 HK 41s and around 1,000,000 HK 91's.
