        ITS THE BEST I CAN DO WITH MY COUNTIRES CRUMMY LAWS.

              There are a lot of folks over here who would like to outlaw such things .

              We are holding forth so far except for a couple of places.

              In general we are used to firing our stuff and really turned off by the ruination of collectables.
              Yours is reblued, but that's just makeup on the corpse.

              "Killing" is not really why we shoot them. Targets are sufficient.

              It is a crapshoot firing really collectable Lugers as some small parts break now and then.
              I fire mine less than I once did.

              A piece like yours, matching and nice original finish would be $1500+

              Enjoy what you can.

                i don`t disagree mate,
                it`s just i live in the u.k.we are very restricted with our gun laws.i would personally love this gun to be live fireing.
                All said,i`am gratefull i have her deact or not.

                    it has firing pin cut and the main chamber has an iron bar inserted in the middle.

                      Not safely, from what I hear they completely butcher anything inside that will make it fire, like the bolt the barrel and the firing pin.

                        Disagree,

                        THE GUN IS ACTUALLY IN GREAT CONDITION.

                        THE FIREING PIN REMOVED AND AN IRON BAR PLACED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BARREL.BUT HAS MINIMAL EFFECT.

                        PERSONALLY I`AM VERY HAPPY WITH MY P08.!!

                          They didnt get to carried away, I heard that UK guns have the barrel butchered, firing pin removed, bolt face ground down, and the pin welded on the inside.

                            So they put an iron bolt in the barrel? I wonder what would have happened if you had bought the gun in parts. Perhaps, if the buyer had the gun disassembled and then mailed you the parts, one part at a time, you could have reassembled the gun and gotten around the deactivation/destruction. You might could find a loophole in the future, if you get my drift. I am not trying to talk you into evading the law. However, I am pretty disgusted with the deactivation measures used on antique firearms. Are certain parts of guns always deactivated? If you buy a gun barrel separate from a frame and receiver, will it always be deactivated in this manner?

                              It is most likely registered in its present condition.
                              Be hard to explain it turning up active.

                              Mailing a Luger frame is same as a firearm and regs apply.
                              This piece, sadly, is toast.
                              Or at least an attractive paperweight.

                                What is the acceptance mark on the magazine? It could have been an original nickel plated magazine if it is an E/63 droop wing. The magazine as well as the base appears to have been fine wire brushed. Look inside the magazine to see if it is blue or nickel inside.
                                The pistol does look like a dip blue, and looks like the small parts have been re-strawed and got a little too hot.
