what is a fair price ???

A friend of mine wants to sell me a broomhandle mauser red 9, with the wood stock/holster and leather hanger all in good condition (packed in cosmoline) and I was wondering what would be a fair price to pay for something like this...need a ballpark figure.

Red 9

Without pictures, it's difficult and subjective but the Red 9's (Actually Imperial Army contract from 1915) have really gone up. Sight unseen, I would think the rig to be around 2K -2.5K. Hope this helps

A lot to look for.
Many were imported and refurbished in the 80s.
Tread lightly.
A complete rig in great condition and matching is going to top $3500 IMHO
