Can you please help identify these holster(s) worn by Wilhelm II

    Gents,
Can you please help identify the holster(s) worn by Wilhelm II in the two pics shown here?
    Thanks and regards,

        Sandro,

Most of the pictures I've seen from Wilhelm II during WWI shows him with a holster for a Reichsrevolver M1879 holster. However I never saw the gun itself...

Here is a standard Reichsrevolver M1879:

There is a shorter variation, called M1883, but I think the the kaiser used the bigger one, considering his holster's and ego's size.
Here is another photo of Willy and his holster.

        Greetings,

        Douglas.

          Douglas, Ace,
Many thanks, that is very useful input. Any idea where I may find an original holster for a Reichsrevolver M1879?

Douglas, great pic, many thanks. That clarifies the issue. One of Wilhelm II's revolvers is on display in the Wehrgeschichliches Museum in Berlin - you can just see it in the enclosed pic.
          Regards,
          Sandro

            Sandro,

Thanks for the picture of the Willy's uniform and gun's.
I don't see Reichsrevolver's holsters very often. Many were converted into Luger holsters prior and during WWI. But I think you can still find them.

The revolver showed in the pictures doesn't look like a Reichsrevolver though...

I found a slightly better photo of the Wilhelm II revolver in the display case of the German History Museum in Berlin - I suspect it's Belgian made.

The Reichsrevolver is a nice-looking weapon. I wouldn't mind having one in my collection one of these days.

Thanks Douglas, Herd, for the info provided. If memory serves, the revolver was monogrammed. Whatever it was, it was likely to be custom made, and certainly was not a service type revolver.
                  Regards,
                  Sandro

These are not standard issue M79 holsters. See Harder, Der Reichsrevolver...
