    Original PAINT???

I got a couple things I wanted to know if someone can tell me about original paint on a few german WWII pieces of equipment (I have no knowledge of these things and acquired a large lot of parts...also Im a very advanced and serious GK43 collector, not a random guy who stumbled upon some stuff)

Ive got several so the drums mags that wil fit onto the MG34 and 42s...some are tan, some are what Id expect german WWII field gray to look like (dark gray blue) as are the carriers....Ive got some mg15 mags that are painted black...Ive got one of those MG34 42 drum mags that look brand new unissued but it is painted black....Ive got several barrel carriers all of which are german marked, but some appear repainted though they are tan, dark field gray, and some that snot green that Yugoslavia painted them I guess? and a few are well worn..AMMO boxes, same question : what color?

so I wanted to know what color were these things painted originally?, and does someone out there sell paint that I could use to restore what needs restoring?

also the slings on the barrel carriers are marked LUX I think, is that a WWII german sling?

thanks, and yeah I need to get a book I know, Im gonna be building a couple real nice dummy guns up and would appreciate the advice on these pieces

Ill try to get some pics

I suggest you post photos of the items: that way you can get feedback on which specific items are original paint and which are post-war repaints.

Also, per the above post re: "MG 34 Snail Drum", someone stated that 1944 Militaria carries lots of the WWII German paint colors, so that might be a source if it turns out that you have some post-war painted items that you wouuld like to repaint.

The "LUX" marked slings are original WWII German issue on the barrel carriers.

Sounds like you got some good stuff.
