    luger find

hii guys, bit of a story here goes,my mother in laws neighbour passed away a couple of months ago and his house lay empty untill yesterday when his neice came over from the states to clear it out. she came across a luger with ammo so she she goes next door and tells my mother in law. next thing the wifes on the phone explaining the above to me, the neice is wondering if she can take it back to the states or would it be a lot of red tape. if it is going to be a lot of hassle my luck may be in. could any one advice on the neice importing back to the usa . thanks in advance.

My opinion is that you cannot import it since it is not coming from a registered US FFL and it is not in the United States (shipping purposes). My advice is hide the gun and not let it deactivated (but I guess denying the government from bastardizing a firearm is illegal in the UK).

cheers bud things are looking good if it cannot be imported into the usa , uk gun laws are a nightmare, upto 5 years in the big house if cought with a section 5 firearm without proper licence.

I believe it can be imported by a licensed importer. I suggest that she contact Simpson Ltd. http://www.simpsonltd.com/ They may be able to help her....I hope!
