Leuchtpistole: original paint or post war repaint?

Hello all,

Can someone help me to identify the paint on this LP as original WWII, or a post war repaint? I didn't find any stripes from a brush, but the paint looks very fresh and shiny to me, as you can see on the pictures. But I don't smell fresh paint.
The material of the LP is aluminium.

Hi,

Like Gurtsack, it seems it has been painted post war. This Lp is a Model 34. So, it would have been manufactured before 1940. But some part of this flare gun are based on a Heer model (specialy the ring on the handle).

So, I think that this flare gun has been disassembled, then painted and finally reassembled with some spare parts from a Heer model.

In theory, this flare gun should be anodized.

I was looking and comparing the LP's (model Heer and model 34) with the one I posted. If I'm correct, the only thing that is wrong, is the ring (aside from the paint)?
It has the M34 type hammer and no load indicator, which are the main detail differs between the Heer and M34 type.

You've all well understood .

It has maybe not be repainted but has received a new finish (paint or covering but I'm not an expert on that subject).
