    My first M1 Carbine

    Hey Guys,

I just picked up my first M1 Carbine today. It is a Winchester serial number 1,173,000. I don't know much at all about these, so any info is appreciated. I am interested to know of the stock and other parts are original to the gun? Or is it post war re-furbished.

Either way, it looks like it will be fun to shoot. PS, I got some ammo with it dated '43, is it worth hanging on to? Or should I just shoot it.

Nice pick up Rylan. I personally would hold on to the vintage ammo. Although it will undoubtedly still work, it is probably worth more as a collectible, unless you absolutely have to shoot it.

These M1 Carbines are a great time to shoot. My brother has 2 of them. He has one in a repro airborne stock and the other in a wood stock. Great fun to shoot. Matt
