      Hello Mike,

Is Redoubt Books still in Manukau City? I allways found great stuff there. My friend sadly passed away a number of years ago but the two of you would have no doubt got along well. There was a gun/militaria store near Mt Eden when I was living there as well. I wonder if they are still around?

      Cheers
      Gary

          Hi Mike,

No, I was an Ex-pat yank!!! I spent most of my time on the South Island but made fairly frequent trips to the North Island to visit friends and buy cool stuff! There was a dear old lady named Pat Bond who worked as a volunteer in the Auckland Museum and she lived on the North Shore and would frequently have me over for tea. Gosh that was a great time....I was sad to have to leave and come back home.

I really miss my Monteiths Bitter too!

          Gary

No, Monteiths is not imported into the US yet. I plan on going to NZ in a couple of years with my family and we will certainly get in touch when we do!

              Cheers

Wow. That is one nice collection you have there. I never fail to be impressed by the quality and amount of militaria that has made its way down here to NZ.

We are very fortunate here that we can obtain and preserve these firearms in full working order.

                      Dan.

It's true! Kiwi's were just as eficient at looting as the Yanks were! I allways found fantastic stuff when I lived there!

                            Here she is

She was born on 06/12/1942 and was issued to a flak unit in south of Berlin.
First original Kubelwagen in NZ. I am going to restore she to tan colour by end of 2009....

                                Hi Henry,
You can fired the semi-auto with live but not the fully auto MG, unless you hold a special licence to fire fully auto on blanks only. Hope this answer your question.
