My Fathers Rifle

Could someone tell me more info on this rifle ? My Dad put this together after he came back from Germany in 1946 when he was discharged (Honorable) from the US ARMY. this is what i was told: it's a 30-06 mauser action with a enfield barrle with a left hand twist rifleing. the butt & stock was custom made to fit him (his arm & shoulder) I'm not sure if he brought it back from Germany or not. I would think so. all the GI's got to bring a rifle home. so i've read. anyway, any info or what it might be worth would be greatly appreciated. sorry for posting this in here.
