    Help with a Swedish M/40 (Lhati)

    Hi Guys,
    My dad just purchased a nice Husqvarna M/40 pistol (Lhati). Its in great shape and a very nice piece. Well, of course I figured I would be smart and field strip it. Oops, I screwed up and don't know how. I followed the procedures of backing up the slide a few mm, then rotated the slide release 90 degrees. The slide moved forward about 8mm then stopped. It also won't slide back now. Just stuck. How in the heck can I get it unstuck?!?!?
    Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
    Sincerely,
    Andy B.

    Hi Andy,

    This may be a dumb question but did you remove the mag?

    Regards, Leon

      Hi Leon,
      Yep I removed the slide had totally cleared the weapon prior to the procedure.

      Maybe someone out there might know a Lhati armorer I can get in contact with.

          did you try pushing the muzzle against a wooden tabletop or something similar and trying to rotate the lever back and forth?

            Hello,

            Dont know if it helps, but;
            http://www.gotavapen.se/gota/fieldstripp/dela_p40.htm

            And a short translation (my english is bad enough, and my weapon-english is even worse, so the "bolt-something" is simply a part which I dont know the english word for);
            1. Unsafe the gun, press the barell backwards against a hard material (like a table) or pull the slide backwards with your hand. Turn the slide lock downwards

            2. Remove barrel, slide and bolt

            3. Turn the slide with the underside upwards, press down the "bolt-something?" and remove the bolt backwards.

            4. Remove the bolt-"something", the gun is now disebmled.

            Assembly:

            1. Make sure that the "bolt-something" is inserted correctly (see picture)

            2. The arrow should be pointing towards the muzzle.

              Thanks Guys for the tips
              I tried all of them without any luck. I did find a local gunsmith who said he might be able to help, so off it went. I'll let you know what the issue is once I find out so that if it happens to anyone else they can save a little time and heartache.

              Again, I really appreciate all the assistance.
