OK ; The cleaning rod is too long , and the buttstock looks spliced & sanded , no sight hood. So where does "All original" come into play ?.

I don't want it to appear I'm "piling on" but gew98 is right......It seems like a late war K98k buttstock end/buttplate was spliced onto a "duffle cut" G/K43 buttstock.....I am also not sure whether/not durafol handguards showed up on Walthers?......I believe most, IF not all went on BLM (duv44's and qve45's) made rifles.....Bodes

i see all this forum ever does is put people down, with it either being fake or not original, maybe the stock has a wartime repair, did you think of that?,people have the Decency to show off there collection,he wasnt asking for opinions he is merely just showing it everyone, personally i think it is very nice, good on you.

Please go back to the original post.....The gent didn't state he owned this K43 rifle, but merely that he was showing it to the forum......And that it was indeed all original....How do we know this wasn't potentially a future sale and that perhaps he wasn't fishing for opinions?.....

As for a wartime repair, stock repairs generally didn't involve such a large section of the buttstock and in that configuration......This one is certainly more in line with a repaired "duffle cut", and the one who did the repair job likely didn't have the original mating piece.....

I can say, I do like the machined off scope rail......This is likely a resalvaged receiver that was rejected earlier as a sniper rifle.....And than pressed into service as just an ordinary rifle.......Bodes
