It looks like a nice straight forward 1934 P.08 holster. The left loop may have been rewewn at the top, but the work looks old and it is very common on these early holsters. This one has seen a some of use as would be expected, but the leather is not cracked and is sound....it is still brown..good form,so overall I like it. I actually would consider this one above average for one from this period.

The stitiching on this one and most other 34 dated holsters that I have seen is originally dark brown...and this is correct. Many today seem to think that Luger holsters are all supposed to be stitiched in white, when in fact original stitching can also be found in black, brown, tan, pinkish tan and even green! Somtimes I have found holsters showing more than one color of thread used in thier construction and it is all original to their manufacture.

Very good analysis on this holster. The only thing is that I would rather consider it "average" for this period, but that's only my point of view and taste : just a detail. Anyway, I wonder what is that leather tongue above the tool pouch inside the flap : never saw this before.

PS : a gentleman never asks for the value of an item that was offered to him.

The leather tongue secures the cleaning rod that fits into the round leather pouch below the pouch for the loading tool.

                Holster

                Hi Folks,

                thanks for the great replies.
this one was not offered just to have,.... but offered for sale.
so I just want to know what a fair price is for such a holster.

                Best Regards.

I think that a median price for that holster would be around $350 US these days. You might find it's equal for $100 less, but you will also find some no better at $100 more from serious dealers...and they will sell. A 1935 dated holster in that condition might bring 50% to 100% more as they are pretty tough to find.

These are correct for the K and G date Lugers and those Lugers are at the high end of German military Mauser contract Lugers...so the holsters ride a bit with them.

Ah yes, thanks for the reminder. Specific to the "transition" holsters of the Weimar republic and early TR. Interesting particularity.
And about the price question, I was just kidding.
