Last one. These pictures cover only a portion of the collection. Since moving into their new facility a few years ago, the price of admission is somewhat high. If I remember correctly, it costs about $15.00. However, it's worth seeing at twice the price.

Cool stuff, Denny. Thanks for the photos (especially the ones of the small arms). Looks like they have some pretty good stuff and, based on the labels, most of it is veteran and/or family donations.

                Gimpy and Denny,
Thank you both for some fine photos of really interesting stuff. I'm glad you posed it here, as I rarely visit the other forums....

P.S. Believe it or not, there is a really nice WWII museum where I live.... The "Silent Wings" museum... Prarie Dog Town used to be a glider school in WWII. They have a lot of stuff like Kalamazoo... But not so much the aviation... Except, of course, a glider....

M y daughter, son in law, 3 grandchilden, live in kal but I have never been to the airport museum. They have a nice military show at the fairgrunds and I have bought a lot of nice things there.

Either Battle creek or Marshall, Mi. ( about 10 mi. from Kal.) had one of the largest German POW camps in the US. A friends mother who grew up there told us about watching the prisoners arrive and they would march them down the street to the camp. I have never been there but was told that there is a large cemetary located there with a lot pow's buried in it.

really? why so many? I thought our treatment was better than most in our pow camps...

Perhaps I have mispoken, when I say a lot . I have seen a picture of a German area in the cemetary with perhaps 50 graves in it. I will try to find it and put up here. frank v.
