Yes. Appears to be the type often called the 1920 commercial. This one was imported into the US, probably in the mid to late 1920s. It looks like it may be a 30 cal., I can not tell for sure.

The condition is very nice, but the grips look too me to be American Walnut, and if so they would probably 1960s era replacements...I would have to see the reverse to know for sure.

I think that these are generally the lowest collector value of any Luger, but nice ones are still not cheap.

This is what is called by some authors as 1920 Commercial.

Jan Still's books on Lugers introduced new nomenclature calling them "Alphabet Lugers" and dated them from c. 1922 (in "Weimar Lugers" book). This is because sometime in 1921-22 DWM change the serial number method from its commercial Lugers by adopting the military system, i.e., four digit numbers + suffix.

Until that time all the commercial Lugers used a continous numbering, of five digits by then. In this case collectors usually called them 1923 Commercial - an obvious wrong date. I consider Still's "new" classification much more accurated.

Your Luger look in great condition. Congratulations.

      Douglas.

Looks like a nice .30 cal. Alphabet Commercial Luger to me. Most of these you see in the US today look like they've been drug behind a pickup for two or three miles. The condition of this one is fairly exceptional..
