Great example, no doubt! What is up with the added sling swivel and reversed rear band? I would guess post war GI for hunting?

1903 sling swivel was added by soldier and M1 carbine sling used...he probably didn't know how to fix the 98k sling, but I kept the sling swivel and M1 sling with the rifle as it was returned from the war. Ed
